The Company focuses on developing innovative solutions across areas including longevity, topical technologies and bioscience research related to the biological and therapeutic potential of 1-MNA. A key element of Pharmena’s scientific work is 1-methylnicotinamide (1-MNA) – a naturally occurring metabolite of niacin with unique biological properties and broad application potential.

The company expands its product range with additional products in the Dermena, Accos, and Allerco lines, including the sensitive skin care cream introduced to the market in 2005.

PHARMENA establishes Pharmena North America Inc. based in Boston (USA), which will focus on conducting clinical trials in the USA and Canada. In November 2006, PHARMENA establishes DERMENA North America Inc. also based in Boston (USA), with the task of introducing dermocosmetics produced by the company to the American market.

Polska Grupa Farmaceutyczna SA acquires over 47% of shares in the company. A year later, in December, the company initiates export sales in selected Eastern markets.

In the Polish market, the company introduces its first original products - DERMENA shampoo preventing excessive hair loss, THERMI soothing and caring gel, and ACCOS anti-acne gel. The introduction of innovative preparations, protected by patents in several countries, is the culmination of many years of research conducted by the Lodz University of Technology in collaboration with the Medical University of Lodz.

MANAGEMENT BOARD
President of the Management Board and Chief Executive Officer
Konrad Palka has served as President of the Management Board and Chief Executive Officer of Pharmena since the Company’s inception.
Prior to joining Pharmena, he gained extensive experience in the financial sector. Between 1994 and 2003, he held a number of senior roles in sales and marketing, including Head of Private Banking Branch at Bank Austria Creditanstalt, Sales Director at DOM Pension Fund Society (established by Citibank), and Sales and Marketing Director at BRE Bank’s asset management companies – Skarbiec Financial Services and Skarbiec Pension Fund Society.
He is a graduate of the University of Łódź (Faculty of Economics and Sociology, Department of Finance and Banking). He also completed an Executive Certificate in Business Administration at the Mendoza College of Business, University of Notre Dame. Additionally, he has participated in numerous training programs in management, marketing, and sales conducted by institutions such as Swiss Re, Bank Austria Creditanstalt, and Citibank.
Vice President of the Management Board and Director of Research
Marzena Wieczorkowska has been associated with Pharmena since the Company’s inception. Since April 2008, she has served as Vice President of the Management Board and Director of Research and Development at Pharmena S.A. Previously, she was a Member of the Management Board and Director of Research and Development at Pharmena Sp. z o.o. Since July 2013, she has also held the position of Quality Management System Representative for ISO 22716.
Between 1998 and 2003, she was involved in scientific research at the Interdepartmental Institute of Radiation Technology at the Faculty of Chemistry, Lodz University of Technology. In 2003, she was awarded a PhD in Chemical Sciences. From 1999 to 2002, she was a recipient of a scholarship from the Foundation for Polish Science.
She graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry at Lodz University of Technology. She has completed numerous professional training programs in cosmetology, safety assessment, labeling, cosmetic manufacturing technologies, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) for cosmetics.
SUPERVISORY BOARD
Tomasz Filipiak, PhD Eng. – Chairman of the Supervisory Board
Tomasz Filipiak holds a degree from the Faculty of Chemistry at Lodz University of Technology, specializing in pharmaceutical chemistry, and a PhD in Chemical Sciences.
He is a private investor and trader with over 20 years of experience in financial markets. Between 2016 and 2018, he served as an Assistant Professor at the Collegium of Management and Finance at the Warsaw School of Economics. Since 2004, he has continuously collaborated with the Warsaw Stock Exchange and the WSE Foundation on the Stock Exchange School project.
Agnieszka Dziki – Member of the Supervisory Board
Agnieszka Dziki specializes in medical law, particularly in providing legal services to healthcare entities, as well as in commercial and corporate law.
Between 2007 and 2011, she worked at the City of Łódź Office, and subsequently at the EC1 Łódź – City of Culture institution, where she coordinated activities related to the New Centre of Łódź project. She was responsible for international cooperation, maintaining and developing international relations, collaboration with governmental and local authorities, as well as NGOs, and for strategic advisory in planning and executing projects, including partner matchmaking for joint initiatives.
She runs her own legal practice under the name “Kancelaria Adwokacka Adwokat Agnieszka Dziki” and is a partner in NZOZ Centrum Medyczne s.c. (Agnieszka Dziki, Paula Maria Szewczyk).
She graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Łódź and completed her advocate training at the Bar Association in Łódź.
Zbigniew Molenda – Member of the Supervisory Board
Zbigniew Molenda is the founder and Vice President of the Management Board of Pelion Healthcare Group.
The company’s operations include wholesale and retail distribution as well as hospital supply services. Established in 1990, Pelion Healthcare Group is currently one of the largest healthcare companies in Poland and Lithuania, with annual revenues of approximately USD 2 billion.
He graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Lodz University of Technology.
Anna Janicka – Member of the Supervisory Board
Anna Janicka holds a degree from the Faculty of Management at the University of Łódź (graduated in 2003), with a major in Management and Marketing and specializations in Accounting and Financial Management, as well as Quality Management.
She is a certified statutory auditor. She has extensive experience in supervising companies, particularly in the areas of legal compliance, financial management, controlling, and corporate governance.
Jacek Szwajcowski – Member of the Supervisory Board
Jacek Szwajcowski is an entrepreneur, founder, and President of the Management Board of Pelion Healthcare Group.
The company operates in wholesale and retail distribution as well as hospital supply. Established in 1990, it is currently one of the largest healthcare groups in Poland and Lithuania, with annual revenues of approximately USD 2 billion.
He graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Lodz University of Technology and has over 20 years of management experience in the pharmaceutical sector. Since 2000, he has participated in the annual meetings of the World Economic Forum in Davos. Since 2001, he has been a member of the Polish Business Roundtable. In 2005, he became a member of the international organization Forum of Young Global Leaders.
He is also the initiator of the “Dbam o Zdrowie” Foundation and the Pharmacy Museum in Łódź, as well as the publisher of a series of monographs on Polish pharmacies.
Jacek Dauenhauer pełni obecnie funkcję Wiceprezesa Zarządu Pelion S.A., spółki holdingowej powstałej z przekształcenia PGF S.A.
Od 1997 roku związany jest z sektorem farmaceutycznym – początkowo ze spółką Medicines S.A., a następnie z Polską Grupą Farmaceutyczną S.A., gdzie zajmował stanowisko Dyrektora Finansowego. W 2007 roku został powołany na stanowisko Wiceprezesa Zarządu PGF S.A.
Jest absolwentem Wydziału Ekonomicznego Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego. Ukończył liczne kursy i szkolenia z zakresu ekonomii i finansów, w tym kurs dla doradców inwestycyjnych w 1993 roku.
